Seton Legacy Lectures by Julie A. Seton

Ernest Thompson Seton was an internationally acclaimed artist-naturalist, writer, storyteller, and youth educator (1860-1946). His work continues to influence the world today in the way we understand human and animal behavior, how we view the natural world, and how we can protect nature and help our neighbors.

In 2013, Julie A. Seton, Ph.D., E.T.S’s youngest granddaughter, started the Seton Family Legacy Initiative with the vision to reintroduce works of her grandfather to new generations.  Dr. Seton gives talks, classes, and workshops on the following broad topics:

  • E. T. Seton: Life and Legacy
  • E. T. Seton’s Depictions of Animals: Art and Literature
  • Character Development in Youth & Adults
  • Indigenous North American Tribal Cultures Advocacy
  • Literature & Storytelling
  • Nature Study & Appreciation
  • Seton’s Youth Programs: Woodcraft, Scouting, and Offshoots
  • Seton and his Conservationist Friends
  • Seton and Scouting History
  • Bow-Drill Fire Starting Technique
